Please welcome Miss Schmidt to Andrew School. She will be starting September 26th and taking over as our 5th/6th grade Math and Science teacher. Please take a moment to read about her below.
I am a Jackson County native, the daughter of Mary and Gary Schmidt of Preston, and I currently live in Bellevue. I am the 2nd oldest of 10 children, with 5 sisters and 4 brothers. I graduated from Preston High School in 1996, Loras College in 2000 with a BA in Elementary Education, an MA in Educational Technology from The Franciscan University of the Prairies in 2005, and an MA in K-12 School Counseling from the University of Northern Iowa in 2007 (Mrs. Eggers and I were college roommates at UNI). I taught middle school science for 7 years and have been a school counselor for 9.5 years. I am an avid Cubs and Bears fan. I love being outdoors, reading, drawing/painting, jigsaw puzzles, culture, and travel, with my longest trip being to Ghana, Africa. Unfortunately, my bucket list trip for September 2000 to London was canceled and I am still looking to reschedule! A fun fact about me is that I have worked more than half my life at pizza restaurants, Geno's in Preston and 2nd Street Station in Bellevue.
